形態特徵
- Evergreen trees to 25 m tall; trunk straight, 50 cm across; bark with deciduous scales, reddish-brown when young; buds ovoid, glabrous.
- Leaves opposite or subopposite, coriaceous, ovate to oblong, 7-15 cm long, 2.5-3.6 cm broad, acute to acuminate at apex, acute to obtuse at base, glabrous on both sides, midrib slightly impressed above, elevated beneath, lateral veins about 7-8 pairs, fine veinlets reticulate and prominent on both sides; petioles blackish, stiff, glabrous, 1-2 cm long.
- Inflore-scence short-paniculate, axillary; flowers small, bisexual; tepals 6, ovate to oblong, 2 mm long, glabrous; fertile stamens 9, ca. 3 mm long, filaments sparsely pubescent, 1st and 2nd whorles of stamens eglandular, anthers introrse, 3rd whorl stamens glandular, anthers 2-celled, extrorse, oblong, glabrous; staminodes ovoid; ovary globose, glabrous, 1-ovuled, style glabrous.
- Drupe obovoid, deep reddish-brown.

- 台灣 : 250 to 2,000 m throughout the island.
- 世界 : Indochina, southern China, Hainan Is. and the Ryukyus.
